The watch houses an early Guild 179 caliber, running well on 15 jewels with sub seconds. It is cased in an elegant octagon shaped 14K white gold filled case, with decorated sides, fantastic Art Deco design with minimal traces of wear through on one back corner

The introduction of the 980 Hamilton marked the end of the 401 with a total production of the Explorer series at only 7500 pieces
