ILCA Classic Vang Block without KeyILCA, Control systems, Vang block without key "Classic" This was the upper vang (or "kicking strap") block originally supplied with all Lasers & latter only with the Laser "Classics". It you are using a Laser or ILCA for "cruising" the "Classic" set up is fine. it is cheap & does an adequate job resulting in a fairly forgiving boat to sail & plenty of room under the boom. If you are using a Laser or ILCA for racing, then you will need the Harken
