Devon Coastline Beads cornwallIntroducing our newest collection of Coastline Beads! These trios of mini glass beads are inspired by the colours of coastlines found along their respective counties and countries. Each bead has been made with a core of coloured glass wrapped with a silver stringer which splits once melted creating a unique wave pattern, this is then encased in clear glass. The Devon Coastline beads come in a set of three, one has a bright green core, one clear core
Every January the Rincon Classic Surf Comp takes place here with longboarders flocking from all over the world to compete
They fasten with a gold filled bolt ring clasp and finished with an engraved Nalu Swirl gold tag
This is then encased with a very pale tranparent blue glass before being decorated with brown and grey dots inspired by the famous whisky barrel houses of the Findhorn Eco Village
On a clear day you can see Portland Bill and to Start Point and Dartmoor inland
it looks out onto the Helford river to Ponsence cove and out to Falmouth Bay
then wrapped a yellow ivory stringer around the middle
whilst the 'sand' side has been rolled in tiny shards of white glass along with a sprinkling of sand from Fistral beach
It's one of our favourite places to explore on our paddle boards in the summer and we're often visited by the resident seal
The Cornish county bead takes colour inspiration from our entire Cornish bead collection and we have used a dark turquoise blue and a bright blue glass
The power of these waves is mind blowing and I wanted to capture this in this piece
A thin stringer of white glass is wrapped around the centre of the bead before being sprinkled with white enamel giving the appearance of the waves breaking out of the deep waters of Watergate onto the shore
Each Nalu Bead is individually handmade in our studio in Braunton
