Karu Chair Ole WanscherThe Karu chair is a contemporary update of a classic design first produced in Finland by the Haimi Oy company in the early 1950s. The inviting curved arms and subtle winged back are the epitome of the post war Nordic aesthetic. Karu offers perfect proportions for a bedroom or living room chair. Available in a range of luxurious fabrics such as Pierre Frey's Teddy long pile mohair velvet and Sahco Zero boucle.

This series was produced in a variety of sizes all with architectural frame and floating glass top by Danish factory Komfort

The Clam Stool is made using traditional joinery and upholstery methods with a solid wood frame and turned club legs at our workshops in Sweden

The Model 512 chair was produced by master cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen in Copenhagen during their golden period of collaboration that also produced the China chair

The stool is therefore the oldest preserved piece of furniture in the country

Other upholstery options are available by request

Subsequently more chairs were produced by cabinetmaker Arvo Laine for the domestic market in Finland

The seat has been reupholstered with new cognac brown aniline leather
