James Whitington 'Spring VI' minimalistJames Whitington is a master printmaker and artist. From 1977 to 2000 he worked with a range of distinguished artists including Brett Whiteley, Charles Blackman, Tim Storrier, David and Arthur Boyd. In 1989, he had his first solo exhibition of paintings and monotypes. Spring VI is refreshing. It is gestural and abstract, a constellation of brightly coloured figurations against a cyan backdrop. In the dance of Whitingtons marks are infinite allusions:
